One of Madison’s best places to visit, the Chazen Museum of Art (Chazen), is a place where you can enjoy and experience fine art. Chazen has more than 20,000 works on display, and its collection includes American paintings from 19th century French Impressionism to Italian Renaissance paintings. The museum displays traditional African sculptures, Asian arts, and contemporary works. Chazen offers guided tours every Saturday at 12:30 pm for free during the fall and spring semesters. In addition, it provides a wide range of programs, including talks by artists or curators called “Gallery Talks” as well as lectures related to the exhibitions hosted by scholars or specialists in various fields such as art history or cultural studies called “Curator’s Chats.” Chazen also has a museum store, Chazen Museum Shop, which sells fine art prints, traditional and contemporary crafts, jewelry, books, and more. See here for information about Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Madison, WI: The Place for Fun and Exercise.
Every year Chazen hosts seasonal events such as the Chazen Family Festival of Art and Culture in late spring/early summer (usually on Memorial Day weekend) that features hands-on activities for all ages with free admission. In short, Chazen is a great place to learn about fine arts from around the world in addition to appreciating them for their beauty.
